Private Lessons

Why Choose Us?

Because why should your dog only behave when nobody is watching? We offer personalized in-home and outdoor lessons to make sure Fido listens even when that squirrel looks really tempting!

Private In Home and Out Door Lessons

Program Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Learning: Start with an Initial Family Session In my theory classroom, followed by personalized In-Home lessons to help your household to understand, your dog’s behavior, and learning process.
  • Exclusive One-on-One Sessions: Private in-home lessons complemented by group Saturday club classes at Forest Park.
  • Seamless Transition: From private lessons to outdoor environmental training, emphasizing handling under heavy distractions, both on and off-leash.
  • American Kennel Club Certifications (also known as “Don’t Embarrass Me in Public 101 Lessons”): Starting with the basics like sit, down, recall, off leash

Private Lesson Services:

  • Puppy and Adult Training: Building a well-behaved and socialized dog from start to finish.
  • Theory Classroom: Our classroom lecture in Forest Hills, NY teaches your household the secret sauce of effective dog training. Our teachings dive deep into the principles, application and techniques that form the foundation of effective dog training.
  • In-Home Lessons: We drive to you for personalized in home and out door sessions.
  • Canine Nutrition: Expert advice on feeding your dog healthy, wholesome food.
  • Behavior Modification: Transforming your home into a haven of calm by tackling issues like aggression, resource guarding, non-stop barking, leash tugging, and selective hearing. Our fun and effective training ensures your pup becomes the well-mannered dog you’ll be proud to show off in public!
  • Off-Leash Training: Setting a high standard with our public on and off leash training lessons as our baseline.
  • Newly Rescued: We teach the best ways to integrate your new pup into your home.
  • AKC Certifications: Completing all 8 American Kennel Club Certifications ensures your dog is well-trained, socially adept, and recognized for exceptional behavior and obedience. Plus, you get bragging rights at the dog park. Who doesn’t want that?
  • Specialized Training: Covering agility, AKC Scent Work, and National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) and Service Dog

Our program starts in my classroom first, then leads to private in home and outdoor lessons designed to teach your household dog training theory and its application in real-life scenarios. For instance, you’ll learn how people in wheelchairs can effectively train their dogs, and understand the difference between trick training (where a dog does not listen in distracting environments) and true obedience training (where the dog responds reliably to commands in distractions).

Because dog training is a lifestyle, our private lessons smoothly shift to outdoor sessions, mastering handling amidst heavy distractions, both on and off-leash. Our approach creates dogs that are environmentally savvy and confidently obedient, ready to conquer any challenge and strut through life like they own the sidewalk.

CGC training creates long-lasting trust between you and your dog, but also ensures you’ll be good neighbors and friends to everyone around you. If you’re interested in going beyond the basics, CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.

AKC Community Canine is to test the dog’s skills in a natural opening setting. For example, rather than the dog being tested in a ring, in AKC Community Canine, the “walks through a public crowd”. The test item will involve the dog walking through a real crowd, on a busy sidewalk, in a therapy dog setting, or at public transportation MTA.

AKC Urban CGC is a public access test that demonstrates dogs are well-behaved and well-trained when in public settings. The Urban CGC test can be used by dog-friendly businesses (e.g., lodging, retail, transportation, public facilities) to recognize and accept dogs with good manners.

The sport of Scent Work celebrates the joy of sniffing, and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content; turning your dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game. It is a terrific sport for all kinds of dogs, and is a wonderful way to build confidence in a shy dog. There are four levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Detective.

Inspired by working detection dogs, K9 Nose Work is the fun search and scenting activity for virtually all dogs and people. This sport builds confidence and focus in many dogs, and provides a way to keep dogs fit and healthy through mental and physical exercise no matter your dogs age!

Prepare for a life-time of fun and adventure with your dog!

Having the best technology and equipment is essential in doing the right job. With this program you are invited to our weekend NePoPo® Dog Training Club sessions, where I push your obedience to higher levels. During weekend sessions, you will see and learn about training a dog's nose as much as his ears for listening to commands.
