Private In Home and Out Door Lessons
Program Highlights:
- Comprehensive Learning: Start with an Initial Family Session In my theory classroom, followed by personalized In-Home lessons to help your household to understand, your dog’s behavior, and learning process.
- Exclusive One-on-One Sessions: Private in-home lessons complemented by group Saturday club classes at Forest Park.
- Seamless Transition: From private lessons to outdoor environmental training, emphasizing handling under heavy distractions, both on and off-leash.
- American Kennel Club Certifications (also known as “Don’t Embarrass Me in Public 101 Lessons”): Starting with the basics like sit, down, recall, off leash
Private Lesson Services:
- Puppy and Adult Training: Building a well-behaved and socialized dog from start to finish.
- Theory Classroom: Our classroom lecture in Forest Hills, NY teaches your household the secret sauce of effective dog training. Our teachings dive deep into the principles, application and techniques that form the foundation of effective dog training.
- In-Home Lessons: We drive to you for personalized in home and out door sessions.
- Canine Nutrition: Expert advice on feeding your dog healthy, wholesome food.
- Behavior Modification: Transforming your home into a haven of calm by tackling issues like aggression, resource guarding, non-stop barking, leash tugging, and selective hearing. Our fun and effective training ensures your pup becomes the well-mannered dog you’ll be proud to show off in public!
- Off-Leash Training: Setting a high standard with our public on and off leash training lessons as our baseline.
- Newly Rescued: We teach the best ways to integrate your new pup into your home.
- AKC Certifications: Completing all 8 American Kennel Club Certifications ensures your dog is well-trained, socially adept, and recognized for exceptional behavior and obedience. Plus, you get bragging rights at the dog park. Who doesn’t want that?
- Specialized Training: Covering agility, AKC Scent Work, and National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) and Service Dog
Our program starts in my classroom first, then leads to private in home and outdoor lessons designed to teach your household dog training theory and its application in real-life scenarios. For instance, you’ll learn how people in wheelchairs can effectively train their dogs, and understand the difference between trick training (where a dog does not listen in distracting environments) and true obedience training (where the dog responds reliably to commands in distractions).
Because dog training is a lifestyle, our private lessons smoothly shift to outdoor sessions, mastering handling amidst heavy distractions, both on and off-leash. Our approach creates dogs that are environmentally savvy and confidently obedient, ready to conquer any challenge and strut through life like they own the sidewalk.

- Rob has been so helpful with training our newly adopted dog. She didn't know anything before we adopted her. She didn't know what it was like to be groomed or how to walk properly on a leash. We have seen a complete transformation within a matter of a few weeks. Rob has helped us every step of the way with learning the theory of why to do something and how to do it too. He trains both myself and the dog with how to follow through with each command. He is so generous with his time and makes sure to work with us individually so we fully grasp the concept. Besides individual training he does a weekend class in the park. I really appreciate everything he has done and taught us!read moreread lessNicole e9/29/2021

It kept my low energy dog social, and taught him good manners. When we had an inkling of any behavioral issues with my dog, we would discuss it with Robert and he would work on corrections during his walks that we would later reinforce at home. - Raw Feeding ReviewI got my dog from a shelter. I was a volunteer, so I walked many dogs. They were fed whatever food was donated by the public, a variety of commercial dog foods. On any given day maybe 85% of the dogs had diarrhea. The shelter said it was because everyone fed them treats on these walks but I know that wasn’t it.When I got my girl home, I wanted to give her the best diet I could, so I started with high quality dog foods, reading everything I could about what to look for. This worked fine, although she made mountains of poop, sometimes soft. She also had lethal gas sometimes, not so much a problem for her, but I’d have to leave the room! She did enjoy her meals.I had been researching raw feeding on chat groups and web sites already when I met Robert.Understanding that dogs are truly carnivores I wanted to try raw feeding. We started her out on tripe for about 5 days and watched carefully to see how she took to it. Fine. She ate it as if she’s had it all along. For myself, it’s the nastiest, but for them its health food.My dog eats Performance Dog, which has tripe, beef, and beef trachea and bone, all ground up. I cut the package in half right through the plastic wrap, squeeze on a bit of salmon oil and she’s got a great balanced meal! She eats it in seconds by the way! Some days I add a whole egg, either with the shell, after rinsing it or without the shell. Sometimes I give her half portion of Performance dog and some chicken of pork from the supermarket. After asking Robert 1000 questions about other meats, salmonella, parasites, any question that comes up, I now also give her pork shoulder, (the bone is the right size that it won’t get caught and god forbid choke her. I also cut up a whole chicken, plus I give her kidney in small pieces, only 10% of the meal, gizzards or liver. How is her health since I have fed her this way for the past year? Perfect. Her coat, which is naturally a little coarse is definitely smoother, softer, shinier. Her body is sleek and muscular. Her um, poops which were huge before are quite dainty, so I guess she is “using” the food rather than it just passing through her. All in all, it is working out very well, and she loves her food. I definitely recommend raw feeding for any dog or cat.Rob also walks my dog when I need it and has boarded her for a few days. She loves him and his dog Tiger!read moreread lessAndrea Bodnar11/28/2014Robert has been walking my dog, Stella, since she was 8 weeks old. He is kind and caring with all the dogs he cares for. Ever wanted to teach your dog to listen in distractions? You’ve come to the right place. Whether your furry buddy is a purebred aristocrat or a delightful mutt, our program ensures they’ll be the talk of the dog park—in a good way. Picture this: fun activities that are enjoyable for both you and your dog. Yes, you heard that right—fun. Starting with the basics like sit, down, and come (also known as “Don’t Embarrass Me in Public 101”), our program builds on these skills so your dog can move from one activity to the next with grace. The end result? A dog you can proudly parade around town without fearing a scene, worry-free.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title.
CGC training creates long-lasting trust between you and your dog, but also ensures you’ll be good neighbors and friends to everyone around you. If you’re interested in going beyond the basics, CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events.
AKC Community Canine is to test the dog’s skills in a natural opening setting. For example, rather than the dog being tested in a ring, in AKC Community Canine, the “walks through a public crowd”. The test item will involve the dog walking through a real crowd, on a busy sidewalk, in a therapy dog setting, or at public transportation MTA.
AKC Urban CGC is a public access test that demonstrates dogs are well-behaved and well-trained when in public settings. The Urban CGC test can be used by dog-friendly businesses (e.g., lodging, retail, transportation, public facilities) to recognize and accept dogs with good manners.
In AKC Trick Dog, dogs and their owners can have fun learning tricks together. There are three levels of AKC Trick Dogs: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.
The sport of Scent Work celebrates the joy of sniffing, and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content; turning your dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game. It is a terrific sport for all kinds of dogs, and is a wonderful way to build confidence in a shy dog. There are four levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Detective.
Inspired by working detection dogs, K9 Nose Work is the fun search and scenting activity for virtually all dogs and people. This sport builds confidence and focus in many dogs, and provides a way to keep dogs fit and healthy through mental and physical exercise no matter your dogs age!
Prepare for a life-time of fun and adventure with your dog!
